He encouraged members to attend and help reach the goal of 100 attendees. Padgett also discussed the future of NYSUT's retiree newsletter, which will soon become an opt-in newsletter.
Vicki Darrow, the president of RC#45, gave an update on the Fix Tier 6 campaign. She distributed data showing how unfair Tier 6 is compared to other tiers, and she urged members to continue to pressure the legislature to change the law.

Tom Gath, the webmaster for RC#45, shared the group's new website. He showed how the website can be used to access a variety of information, including meeting minutes, the scholarship application, and the contact information for the RC's officers.
The meeting also included the election of officers. All of the nominations were uncontested, and the new officers were elected by acclamation.
After the meeting, attendees enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Cindy, the director of the CNY Living History Center. They were also encouraged to tour the museums after the meeting, as their reservations included admission to the center.
The meeting was a success, and members left feeling informed and energized. They are looking forward to the upcoming regional conference and to continuing to work to improve the lives of NYSUT retirees.
